Is the temperature inside the kiln’s switch box higher than the ambient room temperature?

Updated on Jan 24, 2025

Yes. The temperature inside the kiln's control panel is higher than the ambient room temperature. As a general rule, the room temperature, measured 3 feet from the electric kiln, should not exceed 110 degrees F. Use fans to lower the temperature. This simple solution works in even the hottest weather provided you have sufficient cross ventilation through open windows. Excessive heat in the summer will damage the digital controller circuit board, infinite control switches, relays, and transformers.
