What are sources of electrical noise from the power supply?

Sentry controller PLOG errors and jumping temperature readouts are often caused by electrical noise. Some of the sources:
  1. A nearby heavy motor with a capacitor that is about to fail
  2. Loose connections in the breaker or fuse box or wall outlet of your circuit
  3. Loose connections at the utility transformer that supplies power to your building
The only place available for my kiln is in a high traffic area. Any recommendations? What do you recommend for shutting off the power to a studio kiln?
