Product Information
- Description
Thermocouple (temperature sensor), K-type, 1/4 diameter, exposed tip 14-gauge complete with ceramic block and lead wires for 2 1/2 - 3 wall kilns. (Order the PY81-4 if you do not need to replace the ceramic block or lead wires.) Our beaded thermocouple with polished tip is rugged and reliable. The thermocouple is made in the U.S. with American-made components to exacting standards. The special limit thermocouple wire is certified to be close tolerance.
This is the most common thermocouple found in Paragon kilns.
The 6750-14 replaces the previous part numbers 6750-1, 6750-4, and PY50.
If you are replacing the original PY50 thermocouple in your pre-1999 kiln with the 6750-14, please follow these steps:
-
Prepare the Mounting Hole
The existing hole for the old thermocouple is likely smaller than ¼".
Using a standard ¼" drill bit, carefully enlarge the hole just enough for the new thermocouple to pass through. -
Insert the Thermocouple
Once the hole is properly sized, insert the new thermocouple through the opening and have about 1.5" in the firing chamber. -
Secure the Mounting Block
Position the porcelain mounting block over the hole and fasten it securely using the mounting screws provided. -
Connect the Wires
Attach the red and yellow thermocouple wires to the back of the controller — the same way they are connected to your current unit.
