Top and Sidewall Heating with Programmable Heat Balance

The GL44ADTSD features powerful heating elements in the lid and all four sidewalls, allowing full control over heat direction and distribution. Using Paragon’s power ratio technology, you can fine-tune the balance of heat between top and sides in 10% increments. Whether your project needs more overhead heat or even, immersive warmth for bending and sagging, you can dial in exactly what’s required for each firing.

This flexible configuration is especially valuable for tall molds, reactive glass effects, or full-panel fusion projects where temperature consistency across layers is critical.

Built for Slumping, Casting, and Production

• 16-inch chamber height offers the vertical clearance needed for deep slumps, ring molds, or layered castings.

• Sidewall elements on four walls provide precision control for complex shaping or sculptural work.

• Firebrick bottom fits two 20-inch square shelves—perfect for wide-format pieces or batching pendant trays. Fiber paper is recommended when firing over shelf seams.

Engineered Lid and Frame for Strength and Ease

• Patented LiteLid counter-balance system makes the heavy lid easy to lift, with no ceiling-mounted pulleys or cords needed. Dual spring arms reduce strain and wear on the kiln’s firebrick rim.

• Pinless lid elements are mounted in precision-cut grooves inside the 3-inch ceramic fiberboard and 1-inch fiber blanket lid insulation. The wider coil diameter secures the elements in place without clips or pins.

• Floating truss lid design allows for natural expansion, reducing long-term lid wear and improving seal integrity.

• Welded 2-inch steel frame reinforces the kiln body for structural strength and consistent alignment over years of use.
