For those who have followed Paragon’s journey, this step feels both natural and exciting. Over the years, we’ve worked closely with leading controller developers: Orton for our Sentry controllers, Bartlett Instruments for the Sentinel line, and now SDS Industries — the creators of the TAP system. Their TAP II controller has set the standard for precision, simplicity, and connectivity in kiln control.
The New Sentinel Family
As we welcome TAP technology, we’re proud to continue the Sentinel name that represents reliability across our product range.
Sentinel TapXpress will designate the single-zone version powered by the TAP II controller.
Sentinel SmartTAP will represent multi-zone configurations, bringing advanced control to our larger and more complex kilns.
Both controllers will deliver the intuitive touchscreen experience TAP users love — complete with modern menus, clear text prompts, real-time status updates, and full compatibility with the TAP Kiln Control mobile app for remote monitoring and firing management.
Built on Proven Partnership
SDS Industries’ TAP platform has become a leader in digital kiln control, and we’re proud to join forces with them once again. Our history of collaboration — from the early days of controller integration to today’s connected solutions — continues to strengthen our shared commitment to the craftspeople who depend on accuracy and confidence in every firing.
The rollout will begin gradually, starting with our Clamshell models, with additional kiln series following soon after. Pricing for the new Sentinel TapXpress and Sentinel SmartTAP controllers will remain consistent with our current Sentinel offerings.
