PARAGON CS19D: Versatile Top-Loader with Full Clamshell Access

The PARAGON CS19D combines generous interior space with exceptional flexibility. With a square 19" x 19" x 6.5" firing chamber and a dual-opening design, it allows you to lift the lid independently for top loading or open the entire kiln clamshell-style for complete access to the kiln floor.

This is the most adaptable model in the CS Series—ideal for studios that work with both single-layer projects and complex assemblies. Whether you’re slumping bowls, fusing large panels, or layering multiple pieces, the CS19D is designed to simplify setup and streamline workflow.

Built for Demanding Studio Environments

The CS19D features a ceramic fiber lid with fully embedded top-mounted heating elements, delivering clean, even heat without the use of pins or exposed coils. The self-adjusting lid “floats” slightly at high temperatures to maintain a secure seal with the kiln body—ensuring efficient, balanced firing conditions throughout your project.

A painted steel cover, bent and welded at the corners, protects the top of the lid and reinforces its durability. It’s one of many small details that reflect Paragon’s commitment to building kilns that last.

Sentinel TAPXpress. The Future of Firing Control

Equipped with the new Sentinel TAPXpress touchscreen controller, powered by the TAP II platform, the CS19D brings intuitive control to a professional-grade kiln. Gone are the days of firing codes and complex key sequences—now, everything is at your fingertips. The bright, responsive touchscreen offers a smartphone-like experience, displaying logical menus and full-text instructions that make setup and operation effortless.

With the Sentinel TAPXpress, you can create, label, and store an unlimited number of firing schedules. Real-time progress graphs and clear indicators keep you informed at every stage. The controller also connects to the TAP Kiln Control Mobile app, allowing you to monitor and control your kiln remotely, receive firing notifications, and access extra features through optional in-app tools. Preventive maintenance alerts, automatic updates, and safety shutoff functions give you total peace of mind from start to finish.

Flexible Options for Expanded Functionality

Make your CS19D even more capable with a range of compatible accessories:

  • Glass viewing window (1” x 3”) – Monitor your work in real time without opening the kiln. (Always wear green #3 firing safety glasses.)

  • Furniture Kit – Includes a 17” x 17” x ⅝” cordierite shelf, four ½” square posts, and 1 lb. of glass separator.

  • Custom Colors – Choose from 8 bold finishes—berry, black, blue, hot pink, jade, navy, purple, or turquoise—at no additional cost.

Paragon’s durable cordierite shelves resist thermal shock and warping, providing long-lasting stability for daily firing.
