PARAGON F130 : A Versatile Kiln for Glass Artists Who Want More Than Annealing (CARRIED OVER FROM PW)

The PARAGON F Series was developed specifically for flame workers, beadmakers, and glass artists who demand precise temperature control, ease of access, and the ability to anneal hot glass safely and consistently. Designed around the needs of artists who use punty rods, mandrels, and torches, every F Series model includes a spring-loaded vertical-drop door, a dedicated punty rod port, and the powerful Sentinel Touch Xpress touchscreen controller for intuitive, repeatable firings.

The kilns are built with thick firebrick insulation, durable steel exteriors, and thoughtfully engineered layouts to suit a range of workflows. Whether you’re working with molten glass, forming small sculptures, or experimenting with fused glass components, the F Series gives you the tools to do it safely—and with confidence.

What makes the PARAGON F130 (Top-Firing) special

The PARAGON F130 (Top-Firing) is a unique and flexible kiln designed for artists who want to anneal AND fuse glass in one powerful chamber. Unlike the standard side-fired version, this model features a top-mounted heating element recessed into pinless grooves in the 3” firebrick roof. This overhead heat provides direct radiant energy across the chamber, which makes it ideal not just for annealing, but also for fusing tiles, working with dichroic glass, slumping small molds, or casting jewelry components.

With a firing chamber tall enough to accommodate glass pieces up to 12 inches high, the F130 Top-Firing model offers a rare combination of vertical space and flat, overhead heat—perfect for artists who do a bit of everything.

The spring-assisted vertical-drop door opens easily and stays in position while you load, while the 4” x 8” punty rod door provides a pass-through for glass rods or mandrels during firing. Dual woven gaskets and rare-earth magnets help the rod door seal tight to retain heat, even when the main door is open or punty rods are extended.
