PARAGON BLUEBIRD: Compact, Capable, and Made for Beadmaking

The PARAGON BLUEBIRD is a compact, high-performance kiln designed specifically for glass bead artists who need dependable annealing in a smaller footprint. With a 20” wide working space and dual bead doors, this kiln is ideal for solo beadmakers, shared studios, or traveling instructors who need reliable performance in a portable size.

Whether you're annealing soft glass beads or pre-heating rods during live flameworking, the PARAGON BLUEBIRD is built to protect your creations and enhance your workflow.

Designed for Precision, Built for Everyday Use

Inside, the BLUEBIRD features a high-tech ceramic fiber firing chamber, allowing for fast, efficient heating and reduced thermal mass. The top-mounted sinusoidal (“wavy”) embedded element sits closer to the surface than traditional coiled elements, enabling more direct and even heat—ideal for quick recovery times and longer element life.

The 2” x 10” double bead doors (total 20" wide) offer excellent access to the chamber, and each is equipped with rare-earth magnets to hold them open as needed. Thicker 1” ceramic fiber doors provide both insulation and structural durability.

On the front of the kiln, a slotted stainless steel mandrel holder cradles up to 20 mandrels with precision. A built-in glass rod warmer on the top of the kiln helps reduce shock and save time when transitioning between rods.

Ergonomic, Efficient Design

Every aspect of the PARAGON BLUEBIRD has been considered with the bead artist in mind:

  • A sloped, space-saving control panel is mounted below the firing chamber for easy access, even when working at close range.

  • Phenolic door knobs stay cool to the touch during long firing sessions.

  • The kiln sits on a two-layer steel base, with rubber mar-proof feet and heat-dissipating slots to keep your work surface cool and protected.

  • A safety switch on the front panel allows you to quickly power off the controller when not in use or to reboot if needed.

Sentinel Digital Control

The user-friendly Sentinel TouchXpress Touchscreen Controller maintains the annealing temperature. Program it for the length of time desired. Adjust the cooling rate through the annealing range. The controller is packed with features but is so easy to use that your child could program it.

The Ideal Kiln for:

  • Individual lampworkers and beadmakers working in soft glass
