A Large-Capacity Oval Kiln Built for Creative Momentum
The Paragon Ovation 1213 is a fast-firing, professional glass kiln with a generous 41" wide x 13.38" deep x 27.5" high oval chamber—making it one of the most versatile and productive kilns in the Ovation Series. Whether you're slumping tall molds, producing large fused glass panels, or creating multiple platters and bowls in a single batch, this kiln has the space, heat distribution, and durability to support your most ambitious ideas.
Handcrafted in Mesquite, Texas, the Ovation 1213 is trusted by production artists, glass educators, and studios needing consistent, reliable performance over years of frequent use.
Deep Chamber for Serious Slumping
-
The 13.38" interior height offers ample room for slumping deep vessels and working with ring molds or drop-out forms.
-
Sidewall heating elements, arranged in two horizontal rows, enhance uniform edge-to-center heat for better results with larger shelves.
-
Perfect for firing tall molds, large painted panels, frit designs, decals, screen prints, and experimental layering.
Designed for Comfort and Efficiency
-
The lid opens with dual spring-assisted lifts, transferring the weight to a heavy-duty rear hinge to minimize stress on the kiln body.
-
The lid elements are mounted in pinless grooves, staying securely in place without clips for cleaner interior surfaces and easier maintenance.
-
Recessed sidewall grooves protect the element coils and extend the life of your kiln.
-
A sloped control panel brings the SENTINEL digital controller to a comfortable viewing and programming height—especially when used with an 18” stand.
Built to Handle Heavy Use
-
Rugged steel casing and 3” insulating firebrick provide long-term durability and efficient thermal insulation.
-
Wiring is secured with heat-dissipating connectors that have been tested across decades of kiln development.
-
Nickel-chromium element coils are wound from high-temperature alloy for extended life and stable heating performance.
-
The kiln includes a drilled port for KilnVent compatibility, allowing improved air flow and fume control if needed.

Get a Kiln Vent: Cleaner Air, Better Firings, and Peace of Mind
The Orton Vent Master is more than a fume extractor—it’s an essential upgrade for serious ceramic artists and studios. By actively drawing fumes from your kiln and replacing them with fresh oxygen, the Vent Master improves both firing results and your working environment.
Pulls in fresh oxygen for brighter glaze colors—especially reds and oranges
Reduces glaze cross-contamination, letting you fire red and green glazes in the same load
Promotes even heat distribution throughout the kiln chamber
Helps eliminate common issues like:
Bloating
Pinholes and pitting
Dark patches
Porcelain mildew
Blisters and bubbles
Removes fumes that contain volatile metals, fluorides, and sulfur compounds
Lets you safely fire lusters, metallics, decals, and pâte de verre without strong odors
Keeps harmful exhaust out of your workspace by venting it outside
Slight increase in firing time: ~5 minutes (cone 04), ~12 minutes (cone 10)
Reduces cooling time by up to 2 hours from 1000°F to room temperature
Minimal power usage—just 132 watts (pennies per firing)
Helps extend the life of your Kiln Sitter tube assembly by keeping fumes away
Remote motor placement means no kiln vibration and cooler, longer-lasting fan operation
Your PARAGON CT kiln comes Kiln Vent ready. This means that it's already pre-drilled for your convenience.
You won't need a separate 120V wall outlet as your PARAGON CT kiln includes an AOP (Auxiliary Outlet Plug) to power the Kiln Vent.
On your PARAGON CT, the Kiln Vent can be installed to the bottom of the kiln
You will need a kiln stand. Remember ordering yours!
The Kiln Vent comes with a 3’ long 2” duct that connects the collection cup to the motor
You should use a standard 4” aluminum dryer duct or 4” PVC pipe to vent outside (do not use vinyl duct)
Remote motor placement means no kiln vibration and cooler, longer-lasting fan operation
Can be used to vent two kilns with the optional Expansion Kit
