PARAGON CS5630: The Flagship Kiln for Glass Studios Without Limits

The PARAGON CS5630 is more than just a kiln—it’s the ultimate tool for professional glass artists who demand the absolute best. With a massive 56" x 30" firing platform, deluxe quartz tube elements, full-perimeter access, and triple-zone heating, this kiln was built to meet the demands of large-scale work, architectural installations, and studio-level production.

If you're ready for the next level of precision, control, and capability, the CS5630 is in a class of its own.

Unmatched Access and Scale

The CS Series was designed for complete visibility and control during setup, with models that open clamshell-style from the base up. The CS5630 expands on that concept with a 56” x 30” x 16” interior, giving you room to fire massive panels, multi-piece compositions, or production runs—all with full access from the front and sides.

The kiln top lifts effortlessly thanks to heavy-duty gas springs, while three integrated handles (front + sides) make positioning safe and secure. The loading surface is a flat 30” from ground level, so you can work without strain.

Engineered for Precision Firing

The CS5630 delivers unparalleled heat coverage with elements in the top, walls, and floor. Ten quartz tubes in the roof protect the heating elements while eliminating firebrick grooves—reducing dust and extending element life. The smooth quartz surface also keeps the firing chamber clean for pristine results, especially with dichroic or iridized glass.

Sidewall elements are recessed in durable grooves, while the floor features 10 pinless element ball grooves for balanced bottom heat. The Sentinel Touch Xpress controller gives you full access to Power Ratio technology, allowing you to adjust the heat balance between the top and bottom zones in 10% increments for total control over every firing cycle.

Built for Heavy Use and High Performance

From the insulation to the steel tubing, every part of the CS5630 is overbuilt for studio-grade endurance:

  • 3" thick ceramic fiber roof

  • 3" firebrick + 1" ceramic fiber board sidewalls (4" total)

  • 4.5" thick reversible firebrick floor with two expansion joints

  • Rope gasket between lid and floor helps maintain a tight seal

  • Sheet metal ledge protects the front brick from lean-in contact

  • Welded 2” x 2” steel base and 1” x 1” upper kiln frame

  • Locking casters for safe positioning and studio mobility

Even the digital control panel is mounted away from the heat zone for long-term reliability and easy maintenance.

Deluxe Ventilation and Clean Operation

A motorized Orton Vent Master comes standard with the CS5630, mounted on rubber isolators to eliminate vibration. The vent removes moisture and fumes through two rear-mounted collection cups, reducing rust and improving results—especially when firing molds. The vent plugs into the kiln’s auxiliary output and is controlled directly from the Sentinel interface.

For visibility without opening, two 2" x 3" side-mounted peepholes (with engineered steel-handled plugs) let you observe the firing process while maintaining temperature stability.

Smart Controls, Studio-Ready Features

  • Sentinel Touch Xpress controller for full touchscreen programming and Power Ratio adjustment

  • Deluxe mercury relays standard for ultra-reliable switching and long service life

  • Quick-access stainless steel control panel for easy electrical maintenance

  • Quartz tube replacement ports allow convenient access without dismantling the lid

  • Pilot light and on/off switch integrated into the sloped front panel

Optional Furniture Kit

Maximize the firing capabilities of your CS5630 with a purpose-built shelf kit:

  • 1 27" x 53" x 1-3/8" Dyson extruded shelf

  • 4 1.5" x 2" x 24" support dams, placed perpendicular to floor elements

  • 2 lb. bag of glass separator

These heavy-duty components provide stable, warp-resistant support for large-scale work.

  • Molds and deep-slump projects requiring high precision

  • Artists transitioning from multiple mid-size kilns to one industrial-grade system
