Heat from the Top, Sides, and Door

Like all GL Series models, the GL18ATSD surrounds your glass with three-directional heating:

• Top elements are recessed into pinless grooves for clean construction and reduced maintenance.

• Side elements span all three walls in recessed brick channels, providing precise vertical heat control—ideal for drop molds and tall forms.

• Door elements add critical front-end heating, allowing advanced techniques such as embossing or glass manipulation with the door cracked open.

This multi-directional system ensures even heat distribution and excellent results, whether you're firing delicate jewelry or sculptural glass forms.

Rugged Construction for Long-Term Use

• 3-inch insulating firebrick lines the chamber for consistent thermal performance and slow, controlled cooling.

• The kiln body is reinforced with a heavy-gauge steel case, offering long-term durability.

• A ventilated switch box, air gap, and double heat shielding keep electronics cool during frequent use.

• Nickel-plated copper wiring, protected in high-temperature insulation, ensures safety and electrical reliability over time.

• Two peepholes on the rear wall let you observe the firing process directly, with plugs included. (Note: Some international models may not include peepholes unless specified at time of order.)

• Spring-loaded door latch and a recessed brick edge ensure a tight, secure seal throughout the firing cycle.

• The door remains stable on a reinforced hinge shaft, and four integrated handles make the kiln easy to move when needed.
